On October 17, 2017, in Princeton, New Jersey, the US-Taiwan Business Council and the Taiwan Defense Industry Development Association (TW-DIDA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on future partnership and cooperation in the defense sector.
The MOU is intended to advance U.S. defense cooperation with Taiwan. It will not only boost collaboration on defense affairs between Taiwan and the U.S., but will also create an integrated platform for the association members to extend exchanges on defense issues with the United States. Under the MOU, which was signed at the 2017 US-Taiwan Defense Industry Conference, the two sides will foster industrial cooperation, arrange mutual visits by specialists in various fields, and facilitate mutual understanding and learning.
