On May 6-9, 2019, Council President Rupert Hammond-Chambers, Vice President Lotta Danielsson, and representatives from U.S. and international defense companies traveled to Taiwan. The Council delegation and the Taiwan Defense Industry Development Association (TW-DIDA) met to discuss bilateral cooperation issues and conduct site visits with Taiwan defense contractors and local manufacturers active in the defense supply chain.
President Tsai Ing-wen met with the defense industry delegation on the afternoon of May 6, 2019. The Office of the President of Taiwan issued a press release detailing the exchange.
On May 8, USTBC and TW-DIDA also co-hosted the second Taiwan-US Defense Business Forum (台美國防產業論壇) in Taoyuan, Taiwan to discuss granular issues of bilateral cooperation in the defense industry supply chain. See: 2019 Taiwan-US Defense Business Forum
