2019 Taiwan-US Defense Business Forum

The US-Taiwan Business Council and the Taiwan Defense Industry Development Association (TW-DIDA) co-host the second Taiwan-US Defense Business Forum (台美國防產業論壇) to discuss granular issues of bilateral cooperation in the defense industry supply chain, in Taoyuan, Taiwan.

Taiwan’s shipbuilding, aerospace, and information security industry representatives will use the May 8 and 9 talks to propose cooperation plans and to seek out the expertise and experience of U.S. industry through bilateral exchanges. Meanwhile, the U.S. industry representatives will explore potential business opportunities and opportunities to share their technology and expertise with domestic defense companies. The two sides will jointly explore how to develop Taiwan’s role in the global defense supply chain.

Members of the Taiwan Defense Industry Development Association and the US-Taiwan Business Council have gradually become familiar with each other through many joint activities, and together they are building a mechanism for defense industry cooperation between Taiwan and the United States, while also supporting Taiwan’s economy, strengthening its national defense, and improving national security. The two organizations look forward to continuing their cooperation at the annual US-Taiwan Defense Industry Conference in the U.S. on October 6-8, 2019, and at other bilateral exchange opportunities in the future.
