Joint Reception Celebrating 45 Years of the Taiwan Relations Act
Reception Celebrating 45 Years of the
Taiwan Relations Act
This year, the U.S.is celebrating the 45th anniversary of the Taiwan Relations Act (TRA). Since President Jimmy Carter signed the legislation into law on April 10, 1979, the U.S. and Taiwan have continued to build a strong economic and security partnership despite continued attempts by Beijing to undermine these efforts.
Over the last several years alone, this partnership has grown to establish new dialogues on technology, trade, and deepened security cooperation. There are also additional efforts to build on this partnership on the horizon.
The US-Taiwan Business Council, along with its partners the Hudson Institute and the Global Taiwan Institute, convened a reception to celebrate and honor this enduring partnership. The reception, which took place on April 17, 2024, also included brief remarks from guest speakers and from representatives of the Hudson Institute, USTBC, and GTI.
