Roundtable: Taiwan 2020 Election Results

On February 19, 2020, the Council hosts a joint roundtable discussion with the Taipei Economic & Cultural Representative Office in the United States (TECRO). The discussion theme is “Taiwan Next: The result of 2020 January election and its implication on Taiwan-U.S. economic relations“.

• Vincent Chao, who is the Director of the Political Division of TECRO, briefs the audience on Taiwan’s political landscape after Taiwan’s January 2020 election.
• William Foreman, the President of AmCham Taipei, is the keynote guest speaker, and he explores the economic prospects for Taiwan after the election.
• Rupert Hammond-Chambers, the President of the US-Taiwan Business Council, serves as the discussion moderator.
• Dr. Chuang Suo-han, the Chairman of the Taipei World Trade Center, joins the group as a discussant.
