On October 8, 2024, Council Vice President Lotta Danielsson spoke at  “A Cross-strait and Beyond Seminar: Fostering US-Taiwan Co-Production,” a virtual event hosted by the Atlantic Council.

In announcing the event, the Atlantic Council said,

Taiwan’s indigenous defense industry has grown significantly in recent years, but increasing gray-zone aggression from the People’s Republic of China (PRC) has placed urgent demands on Taipei to enhance its military capabilities and security apparatus. The United States and Taiwan could both stand to benefit from expanded defense industrial cooperation, including the co-production of weapons systems, munitions, and defense technology. This virtual seminar will consider key obstacles to US-Taiwan co-production, as well as opportunities and recommendations for cooperation on defense industry and innovation.

The Council thanks the Atlantic Council for the opportunity to participate and speak on this important topic with such a great group of experts.
